Matthew Arensdorf Attends REACH Youth Scholarship Awards Breakfast

Chairman Ronnie Lott invited Matthew Arensdorf to attend San Jose Sports Authority’s REACH Youth Scholarship Awards Breakfast at the San Jose Marriott on May 1st. The REACH (Recognizing Excellence, Adversity, Courage and Hard-work) program gives us an opportunity to honor student-athletes who have overcome adversity to excel both academically and athletically. Over 90 high school seniors have received REACH scholarships in the past 18 years.

Each candidate must maintain a 2.5 GPA, play in a high school sport, demonstrate community involvement, show the ability to overcome adversity to reach their goals, and write a 1-3 page essay based on their experiences. There were over 20 high school senior candidates in attendance from many different Santa Clara Valley high schools. While Matthew was not awarded a scholarship at this awards breakfast, he felt honored to be recognized as one of Santa Clara Valley’s top student Matthew met former San Francisco 49er cornerback /  Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Ronnie Lott, and Womens Soccer World Cup & Olympic champion, Brandi Chastain.
